Meet Nina Hemphill, Trauma-Informed Therapist for the “Imperfect Survivor”
Nina is an LGPC based in Maryland, and graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Georgia, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Morgan State University.
Nina is a passionate therapist dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their transformative journey toward healing and growth. Viewing all clients through an intersectional lens, Nina utilizes an integrative approach, drawing from ACT, Attachment-informed, IFS-informed and Somatic-based approaches.
Nina’s approach is rooted in compassion, nervous system healing and trauma-informed care. She helps clients untangle self blame from survival responses, rebuild trust in their instincts and reconnect to their bodies.
Nina is under supervision by Lourdine Jean-Francois, LCPC.
A Word From Nina:
“I work with survivors of sexual assault, and other traumas, who are carrying guilt, shame, or responsibility that was never theirs to hold. You may feel conflicted, confused, or like your story doesn’t fit the “perfect victim” narrative. That’s okay. Trauma is rarely black or white—it often happens in the grey.”
